I of course loved Tim Burtons interpretation because of Johnny Depp. But I also like how it gave the mad hatter more of a crazy feel. You actually understood how nuts he really was instead of just scared as I thought in the book. I also noticed how in Burtons film the mat hatter confronted Alice as she arrived where as in the book they tell her there is no room. I thought the March Hare and Dormouse were played well and I enjoyed how he kept it at these characters only. At the end of the scene the Queens people show up, and the mat hatter hides Alice, this also doesnt happen in the book. Burtons film was the first experience I ever had with Alice so I tend to lean towards this one in preference. The book does offer more detail and is different in a lot of ways.

As I the mad hatter, was having tea today this young girl came upon me. Quite an odd girl she was. I told her our table was full but she continued to sit down anyways. She stated that there was plenty of room. This irritated me but i went along with my tea.
This girl named Alice thought she was smart in some way and I challenged her logics. In the end I would like to say I proved my point as she seemed confused. We continued with our tea and I told her how I sang at the Queen of hearts concert. We then listened to the Dormouse tell us a story as he tried to not fall asleep.

I found it very interesting how much Queen Victoria enjoyed the book Alice in Wonderland. After discussing it in class it became much clearer how Lewis Carroll had connected Queen Victoria to the Queen of Hearts. I would like to study more about The Queen and how Carroll made the connection between Victoria and the character “Queen of Hearts”.  I think by studying characteristics and attitudes of Queen Victoria, I would be able to find ironic similarities and humor between the two characters which would make the book more enjoyable.

My favorite book

I have been struggling trying to pick my favorite book. I have decided that the decision is just not possible. I have too many favorite books in which I like all of them for different reasons. I loved the book called Suzanne's diary for Nicholas written by James Patterson which was a romantic love story. I also enjoyed many of Mary Higgins Clark books. The suspense kept me interested in the reading which never happens.  Even though I know your hatred towards Twilight I have to say they consumed my junior year of high school. I was very resentful about the Twilight series I never wanted to read them. Eventually I was talked into it and after the first chapter I was hooked. I continued to read the series that year and fell in love with the romance, action and suspense.
